43. Silver King Lake

This hike from the Whetstone Trailhead along the ridgeline to Silver King Lake has been impacted from wildfires at both ends. Unfortunately, that is where the more extensive old growth formerly stood. The northeast margin of the Beachie Creek Fire (2020) burned near the trailhead and the first couple miles of the hike. There may still be some old forest left along this segment. However, it is clear from the aerial photos that the destination old growth near Silver King Lake did not survive the Bull Complex Fire (2021).
