2024 Status

No longer recommended as an old-growth hike. The hike described in “50 Old-Growth Hikes in the Mt. Hood National Forest” (1993) travelled through a nice stand of elders for the first mile. However, the trail has been re-routed out onto the glacial till and bypasses most of this stand now. The map below is for historical purposes only.
