31. Clark Creek and Johnny Creek

These two nearly adjacent interpretative trails once provided a nice introduction to the beautiful old forests of Fall Creek. Alas, the Clark Fire (2003) burned at high severity over the east half of the Clark Creek Interpretative Trail loop, along the Clark Butte trail uphill to FR 417, and over all of the Johnny Creek Interpretative Trail. The Clark Creek Nature Trail is open, and there is a very small area of nice old growth along the western half of the loop, but the Johnny Creek Trail no longer exists. It was salvage logged after the fire and weeds are now exerting dominance over the parking lot.
